· Soil preservation
As soil is one of the valuable natural resource where man
and and animals depend on
plants for their food and plants get nourishment from the soil. basically we
could say that plants and animals depend on soil for their food . The process of wind, rain or rivers carrying
away the top fertile layer of soil is called soil erosion.cutting of trees or deforestation, strong winds in places of less vegetation(desserts),running of water bodies over the soil and overgrazing are all causes of soil erosion.so,we could prevent it by the means of
1.
Forestation or planting trees as their roots hold the soil together.
2.
Terrace or step farming done on slopes of hills slows the speed of water
flowing down and reduces soil erosion.
3.
Building
embankments on river banks prevents soil erosion by the rivers.

Preservation of forests and wild animals:
The best way to protect wildlife is by protecting their natural habitat.Destruction of their natural habitat usually happens through the use of land for farming or housing.Habitats may also be destroyed by pollution of the environment,by destruction natural disasters such as forest fires, and by flood caused by deforestation. The forests are the richest sources of wildlife and preserving the forests is a good start in preserving our wildlife. The slash and burn system should be stopped. The areas where trees have been cut should be replanted promptly.some forest areas should be set aside as national parks.Any development or building of houses and big structures should not be done in these areas. As following these we could make an attempt in minimizing the destruction of forests and wildlife.
· Preservation of minerals :
We must use minerals sensibly as they are non-renewable natural resources. There is only a limited amount of oil, limestone, iron, coal, etc., found in the Earth. We should use renewable and non-polluting sources of energy like solar energy, wind energy, etc., instead of coal and oil so that they can last longer. There are several households which make use of natural gas for heating water in their homes. Instead, if you can have a water heater devoid of a tank, then you will be successful in minimizing excessive use of natural gas. Developing and using solar and hydro power can be a great way of conserving natural resources. While the rays of the sun can be used for generating solar energy, hydro power can be generated by making use of water flow in a dam.
· Water preservation :
Water consumption, whether it be in the household, through industry and manufacturing or in agriculture, must be given the consideration it deserves. Huge amounts of water are lost every year due to unattended faucet leaks, using outdated appliances, excessive clothes washing, showering, washing cars, gardening, and other everyday household activities. Often, we see wastage of water on a large-scale which can be avoided by conducting training and information sessions to educate people. People should use minimum water for daily needs such as washing cars and utensils. Whenever you see open taps, you should immediately go and close them properly to save water. The simple ways to save the water will help you in preserving the natural resources.
Natural resources are conserved due to economic as their natural beauty and importance to local culture. Preserving biodiversity is essential for ecosystems to respond flexibly to damage or change. Caring for natural resources and promoting their sustainable use is an essential response of world community to ensure its own survival and well being. So. It’s our duty as citizens to safeguard the blessings of the nature....

Thomas Fuller has said "We never know the worth of water till the well is dry." But we can understand it's value and must be eager to save our living foundtion "Water" as my friend has illustrated.
